Pictures for you guys
Well i have some pictures for you guys. I bought a new camera, and decided to try it out. A also wanted to ask what the best way to remove the oxidation from my paint is. (best being the least amount of work). I tried to use mothers cleaner wax on the hood and it took several hours, and gave me mediocre results. Without further delay here are the pictures.

Re: Pictures for you guys
I have had good results just cleaner/waxing the crap out of one.It takes a lot of work but the truck I did looked much better.I now own a cheap buffer for that so i think i could do one much quicker.IIRC it took me about 3 cases of beer.

Re: Pictures for you guys
If the paint is original, or even if it isn't, restoring any semblance of a gloss may be difficult. If a rubbing compound, red cuts more than white, doesn't bring back the shine, i.e., get rid of the oxidation, then a more serious approach may be taken. I think (and surely there are others who will know) that using some 1500, or 2000-grit wet/dry paper on a test portion of the finish will tell you what will work and what won't. It would have to be done with the paint wetted with water, and a light rubbing to expose the un-oxidized paint, but it's quite possible that the paint may be too weathered, too old, too thin, to buff out like you would like for it to do.
The years in the sun and other contaminants are tough on skin and paint. If it was repainted and the paint is thin, there's little else you could expect from it.

Re: Pictures for you guys
I used Turtle Wax Liquid Clay Bar on my white truck and it came out nice with about as much effort as wax.I guess just more care to rub every spot equally.I never wax that carefully.

Re: Pictures for you guys
I think I gave $29.95 for mine on special at Sears. It was several years ago and it is a slow speed for non pro's.You would have to use a heavy cutting compound and work at it to break thru if the paint is decent.

Re: Pictures for you guys
I have found for a "quicky clean and polish" I use a product made by turtrle wax called "color back" it can be found in the waxes at your local auto parts store, You just wipe it on, then use a clean towel to wipe it off.. for me it has worked great!

Nice truck mister laugh
It may just be me but it looks like you had a cable or wire hanging low by the rear end of your heavy Chevy
