Disc Brakes...
I was wondering if the whole dis brake assembly (Master Cylinder, Power Booster, Proportining Valve and lines) from a 78 truck can be fitted onto a 68 truck? What would be necesarry for this modification?

The direct answer to your question is YES!!
The only modification that is necessary is that if you transfer the entire front end assembly eg: cross member and all... there might be a couple of large attachment bolt holes to re-drill. I have done this and it works quite well. The holes will be very appearant once you get the disc brake front end in place. ------------------ 1972 GMC Jimmy (topless reigns) 1996 ImpalaSS 1994 ImpalaSS too many toys!!!

I have 75 parts on the longhorn, but didnt change the crossmember. all of the lines, hoses ,prop valve, master & booster can be fitted. I have a manual disc(vacumn issues with a very health cam that was in a BB Olds at the time),so I cant really say on mods for the booster. the manual brake master bolted right on,with an adjustment to the brake rod. I drilled a hole in the frame(1 ea side) for the brake hoses,& mounted the prop valve to the front crossmember(had to drill holes for that also. the brake hoses are also bolted to the front of the upper a arm( this required a slot on the of the a arm to mount). Good luck........69longhorn

I have 73-up spindles on my truck. So you should be able to transfer everything over without changing your crossmember.

Assuming you have a C10 2WD, you can keep your crossmember, crosslink, inner tie rod ends, idler arm, and Pittman arm, but will need to use 73-87 outer tie rod ends (Moog ES409RT). They are the same length as yours and will screw right on to your tie rod adjuster sleeves. You will also need 73-87 upper ball joints (Moog K6136). The lowers are the same for 71-87 C10 2WD trucks.

I found a nice '86 C-10 in the junkyard. Can I swap those upper and lower control arms right over to the '67 crossmember in my truck? Cuz that'd be pretty sweet.
Thanks,
