Im assembling the motor (454) and putting on all the accessories. The alternator is from an 81 chevy. My truck is a 71 stepside... Can i run that alternator??? What alt do i need if that doesnt work? Just buy an alt for a 71 chevy big block?

You will hafta do a little bit of rewire to make it work properly, but it will bolt right on

Can you post a pic of your power steering set-up? You can run any alt you want just need to make sure the wiring is set-up correctly. Has the truck been rewired most aftermarket wiring kits have the extra alt kits included..

No, wiring looks to be new original from the looks of the wires.

So, i believe my old alt. was a one wire alternator. This alternator has i believe 2 blank spades and a terminal on the rear of it. How do you wire the alternator???

Any particular pics you need on the PS setup.???

A thick red wire and another thinner wire.... Any help??
