Re: Wheres billa???
You probably saw the DHL guy driving up and down the road looking for us.
Retarded idiot made up an address when he reported it as delivered, and then did a "drop it at a house and run" when no one was looking. The only time they have ever done me wrong, and it was with $1000 worth of tools. :grrrr: |

Re: Wheres billa???
I never told the story on here in all reality, hinted towards it here and there.
the short story is yes... I did get my tools... the long story; It was nuts. I timed it to where the tools would get to Marks work on friday, and I would get there saturday. Friday towards the end of the work day (pacific time) Mark tells me he hasn't seen anything. I make a few calls from here.... but it's 3 hrs later here (eastern time) and find out is is stuck in a DHL hub that is only open 3rd shift in bellingham. I call again at midnight your time and tell the lady my story... the fact that I NEED that package on saturday, no ifs ands or buts. Tell her the whole story of flying out and driving back. I have it redirected to his inlaw's place and I figure all is good. She promised me it'd be there by noon. Next day we are all in the barn, I see the yellow DHL van go down the road, then back up the road, then again down the road... i'm thinkin "this idiot is lost" mark reminds me I am not the only one that uses them, and not to worry. Well, come 1:30... maybe 2, I am startin to stress, call DHL, and I'm told the package was delivered... I said no, I am at that address, no package, and that's when I realized what a tool the driver was. I can't remember Mark's inlaws addy... but lets just say it was 1234 main street. The driver said he delivered it to 1243 main street. So mark and I went looking for that address. As you know, there's not a whole lot of houses on that part of the road, and that address didn't even exist. We start going door to door, and I was getting totally p!ssed. Turns out, they dropped it by the front door of the house next door. This house happened to belong to a family member of mark's. he went in the back door, and asked if anything had been delivered there, and they said no. Just to make sure, mark looks out by the front door.... a door that never gets used, and there it was! The package, was this cooler filled with a skip white HEI, 5 quarts of mobile one oil and napa filter, and lots of snap on tools (my work tools). Had a bunch of odds and ends, fuel line, a spool of wire, crimp on connectors, normal junk for a trip of this nature. Plus, it was to be my Mtn Dew holder for the trip. That was the main snag for the whole trip. it also CREATED another snag, which was kinda funny, and mark was VERY cool about it. Since I was stressin about my tools, and making calls to DHL, then to Mark, then to DHL, and this and that... I forgot to go to the bank. I had to get all my money ... or at LEAST the $2100 for the burb. I can use my card for fuel... but I was pretty sure mark didn't have a card swiper in the barn. Well, I didn't make it to the bank in time. They were closed. So I start attacking the ATM. I wasn't able to get all the money out, and since the ATM will only give $20 bills... I had $1300 or so in my pocket, all in 20's. Think about that for a second... that's a pretty healthy wad. Like I said, mark was real cool... I gave him $1000 bucks, and wrote a check for the rest, and told him to wait till i got home and transfered funds from one account to the other. I also showed him in my records that the money was in fact there... that'd be a hell of a scam huh? lol! He took my cash and check and had no problem with it. Re: Wheres billa???
AWESOME story.... i missed that.
I met mark this weekend. He is an awesome guy. One of the reasons now i know why i named my project Karma. He is an awesome guy... Kinda dude to give you the shirt off his back, then his pants if you promised to bring them back..... He put me about a month or 3 ahead on my project by getting me a VERY nice part for nothing. |

Re: Wheres billa???
Andy I work out in Monroe, and if it's the same DHL guy that serves us, he IS a tool! Everytime he comes in he reaks of alchohol and cigarettes (not the normal hey I smoke, but the I smoke through my clothes kinda smell). One of our office girls went out to his van once because he forgot the second package he was gonna deliver she came back and said "I don't know what he's drinking in there, but it's so strong its making my eyes water", so I'm guessing you got a chance to see his handiwork.

Re: Wheres billa???
This is Bill - soon to be deleted, and breaking the rules with another account. I suspect after this I just won't even try to visit again.
I did the best I could to be reasonable and to be a good, contributing member. From my perspective, I just ran afoul of a misunderstanding with Liz some months back and at that point I really did feel that I could do no right on the site. As for the PayPal, I tried to contact Liz/Josh to work things out but they would not do so - I sent $25 via PayPal to either a) get a response or b) turn another member blue. When they chose not to turn a member blue and refused to comment, I protested the payment. Maybe it was the wrong approach - but if so, it was a sincere approach to try to reconcile. Churchill said "jaw jaw is better than war war" - I was just trying to see if we could talk things out. I am sorry for the trouble I caused, and it has been brutal being banned from a community I tried so hard to be a good member of ($100 for food donation last year, $800 software for BOSS, hours spent doing research for members, etc.) but just ran into an immovable object; the engine forum is a dangerous place as it's hard to tell experience from pissing It's clearly too late to fix, but I am sorry. As I said in my note to Josh with the PayPal - my very best to everyone here. <poof> |
