Sorry I haven't updated in a while. I have been working around the house and at my sister's place a bunch. I have been able to find time to do some test and tune sessions.
I went back to an unlocked distributor, meaning not welded weights. I just backed the initial way up so that I only get 22 degrees total, this helps with driveablility. I also put a vac advance on it for the cruise to try and help with gas mileage,yeah right!
I seem to have the jetting pretty close, maybe one size too much on the front an back because it works the best when it is cooler at night than during the day. Front jets are 66 and the rears are 69.
Funny things I have found. I had read that the 1/4 inch ready rod that I was using to hold the carb hat on was not strong enough, another website with lots of turbo info, and everyone seemed to believe this sort of thing, recomended is drilling and tapping for a 5/16 bolt. I did have what seemed to be a small fuel leak between the hat and carb which seemed wierd until I figured out it was just excess spray from the shooters being blown around by the turbulence under the hat. I thought the leak was just a bad gasket so I replaced it and while I was there I used a grade 5 bolt instead of rod. I ended up with more power at the top end, sometimes breaking the tires loose close to the redline in first and second gear. And then I ended up having to up the jets 2 sizes on the primary. Altogether a fun experiment, problem is now I'm hooked and need more power.

I should add that it is not a vette killer by any means. It's a stock 170 horse 305 so to get it to come alive, trust me we're overcoming alot. It is still pretty quick, and when the boost comes on you sure know it. I always get some ricer who wants to race, but usually the one who put all his money into neon tubes and bondo rather than engine. I was toying around with a G35 coupe that seemed to be working hard to keep up but I think he was playing, that car should wup me.
I have some bad video from inside, but it's at night and shows really nothing (I prefer breaking the law in excessat night when I can see the lights) . I guess I'll have to get some before the snow flies

So how long would you say you have been driving it like this? I'm realy curious to see how long it will last and if I should jump pullies on my blower to pick up a little more boost, Oh and by the way I just put the wideband air/fuel meter in made by NGK in my truck and it's super easy to do and only cost $300 but it only does one bank unless you want to move it from side to side.

straitnate14 I have had it running for a few months now and it is still going strong. All it does it get taken out and beat on and put away before the cops show up, kinda like when I used to have a crotch rocket. I am surprised a stock bottom end has taken this abuse. I keep up on my tune, never letting it get too lean and almost never let it detonate, almost...
I have an AEM wideband on the pillar along with a autometer boost gauge, kinda like a ricer but it's easy to see at speed
68-c20 I don't know the paint code the truck was this colour when I bought it.
I'm going to try to get some video tomorrow as I think this will be my last chance before it goes into the garage for a nap for winter, well that and more motor

Ok, I'm dumb. I took the camera out and didn't notice the battery was almost dead, so I got one crappy video from inside the cab. I took my neighbour for his first ride in it, there's a little bad language at the end, he was a bit surprised. The wife says that if it stays nice she's willing to stand in the ditch and tape it while I run it thru the gears so we can see what it sounds like outside, she must love me?

Sorry I haven't updated in a long while. I don't even remember where I left off. Surprisingly the 305 lived the whole time and when I took it out in the fall of 08, it still ran fine. Like anything else I wanted more power, so I tossed in the 327! I did regasket most of it but I decided not to pull the heads so I didn't find out what the pistons were, I'm guessing just flat tops. If they are, then with the 64 cc heads that makes it around 10.5-1. I installed an intercooler and got a proper carb hat from extreme velocity. Now I run 12 lbs of boost with 22" total timing. I makes enough power that you can safely put a $50 bill on the dash an offer your passenger that he can keep it if he can reach it, noone's gotten money yet.
Things I've learned, boost is hard on stuff.
- When I opened the diff to put in the lock right I found the cross pin bolt snapped and the cross pin had a twist in it.
-I broke the lock rite, this thing does hook surprisingly well!
- I blew the saginaw up, literally gears broken into pieces and shafts garbage, that seemed to happen after I put the posi in and it hooked finally.
- I pulled the saginaw and to my surprise the newly turned flywheel was blue, the clutch was slipping pretty bad under full power, It didn't have a 1000 miles on it.
- I put in a super t10 I had that was used with a brand new centreforce clutch. The good news is that the clutch works great now, I can break the tires loose at 75mph in 3rd, the bad nes is that the super t10 lasted about 25 min of hard abuse before the bearings went out.

Where I'm at with it this winter.
I got a pile of 9 inch stuff for free, including a posi so I'm going to run that, plus it has a very favorable gear for me, 3.50.
I came very close to getting a 700r4 but found alot of people were very resistant to use this behind something twin turbo. I am now doing a 4l80e swap with an electric manual valvebody from rossler trans and a pile of transgo parts to make it work behind this setup. I'll post some pics but it'll be a few days.

what is that can above the watter pump that has the 2 hoses to the 2 turbos and the 1 hose attached to the valve cover breather ? btw .... this is aussome !!!! keep us all updated !!! i wanna do this but with a big block

its part of a push pull system that is the crank case evac for when it is under boost. The can is the oil separator. The intake on the turbo provides the vacuum to evac the crankcase while the engine is under boost. The other engine I ran had some oil come thru and you don't want it to get sucked into the turbo intake. I may take it off as this engine has no blow by
