lower control arm ?
how much do you thread in the lower arm mount? set it in the middle, towards the front, the rear. does this effect alignment. the arms i am speaking of are the 72 and older style with thread in end caps. with the caps threaded in there is still room for adjustment on the center shaft. where da ya put it. any help would be appreciated. i made a set of the lowers like jlaird did on his for the bags. turned out nice, real nice.

Re: lower control arm ?
You may want to try and get a shop manual. It does affect the alignment and the spacing is a little hard to describe without the pictures. I'm over in Katy near Barker cypress and 10 if you want to borough mine.

Re: lower control arm ?
I once set mine in the middle on a rebuild. I figured that would give me the greatest available motion, but have NFC on what's recommended.

Re: lower control arm ?
You run them down equal. Then torque to a spec. I think around 75 ft/lbs. They bottom out on edge of the hole on the A-arm.

Re: lower control arm ?
There is a trick to it, because one way and they are so F'n tight they do not pivot and the other way they move nice and smooth as they are supposed to. I am wondering myself, as I too have just done it with no issues, but the "CORRECT" way would be nice to know??

Re: lower control arm ?
dwcsr is right. There is a measurement that you have to take to get it setup right. The manual describes it. They are not just centered. I do not have my manual here, but maybe somebody can post a scan of the pages.

Re: lower control arm ?
mine were tight. could only be turned with a wrench not by hand. when i put them on the truck they seem to pivot fine.
