Reassembly guidelines for beginners....
Okay, here goes. I'm going to have to put back together what I took apart. Speaking of the cab, which is gutted, I feel that the wiring harness should be the first thing to be reinstalled.
For those of you who have done this at least once and maybe many times, would you consider giving us amateurs some professional advice on what to do first, or what NOT to leave until last.

Don there isn't much to the wiper motor and wiring harness but it is easier to put back in without the seat, steering column, etc in there. I know you have some truck manuals you can refer to for exploded views,etc.
I'd say the dash pad next then the heater case, but I think you mentioned maybe eliminating the stock setup and going with aftermarket later didn't you? Radio, glove box, instrument cluster, pedals, steering column, gas tank then seat is about the way I go about it.

I am doing this as we speak, this is what I have doen inside the cab so far..
* dynomat on the floor and back of cab *dash harnes *dash pad *a/c evaporator box * a/c ducts *accelerator pedal * brake pedal *instrument cluster * steering column * gas tank and fuel line this is where I am at so far...

Glad I read this my interior is almost completed I even put the seats in and I FORGOT THE DASH PAD!!!! I thought I would be smart and wait on putting it in so it wouldnt get messed up accidentily and I guess I out smarted myself, not that big of a deal shood just make installation a little more fun.

This will come later in the process, but I thought I would throw it out there. When installing the front clip, don't forget the spacers between the inner fenders and the cab brace on the firewall/toeboard. If they are omitted, the lower part of the fender will be pulled in when the bolts are tightened and it looks terrible.

I forgot to mention, I'm gonna have the interior sprayed with Vortex, in lieu of using any other insulator material. Read an article in Custom Classic Truck magazine a few issues back and they were using this material, which happens to be what I had sprayed in my bed.
I guess that spraying that preceeds the wiring harness and dash pad install. Then, I can move on. But, Boog, I've decided to stay with the OEM A/C due to the cost of a new system. I've got a firewall replacement line up so smoothing the firewall and doing an aftermarket A/C won't have to happen. Okay, guys, let's keep this going just in case anyone else remembers something or did something "unusual" right after saying, "Hey! Watch 'is".....

The insulation and fiberboard should also go on the firewall pretty early in the process. I found on mine I had to be careful to not tear the foil back on my floor insulation when working under the dash. Next time I will install that after all the wiring and dash work. Had to fish a few wires for the alarm system under it.

Yep, firewall insulation panel should be the first thing. Then wiper motor, dash pad, pedals, center a/c vent, harness, heater box, duct work.......If you have an a/c truck, leave the gas pedal bracket loose at the front where it attaches to the dash. That lets the dash flex, and makes it possible to put the heater control panel in.

Hey lets keep this thread going. I am the Ford guy who bought a 70-c-10 truck and I am putting my frame back together now after Por-15 and the cab will be next... I am starting with a new wiring harness etc...

In that case take a lot of pictures, then bag and tag every bolt, part and screw.... Don't get rid of anything until you are done...

alfeefish, if you are asking about the inner fenders, the way I do it is fit the entire front clip and then add whatever it needs for shims between the inner fender and the brace. I think that's how they did it at the factory because I have disassembled some original trucks that had zero, one or two shims.

Get a free LMC book... They use pics from the factory assy manual and are a great reference!
