welcome to the board.. quite a few of our members have tubbed dropped trucks... if you use the search feature you may be able to locate a few of them while you wait for responses here... if you can please post some pics of your truck and some plans for it

Re: tub it or not????

well it really depends on your build route. tubbed wheel wells on a bone stock truck would like kinda goofy.

but if your slamming it you need the hieght.
and if your racing it you may need the width.
or both

Re: tub it or not????

The wheelwells... those humps on either side of the bed. Larger tires or lowering the truck may cause the tire to rub, so the solution is to make the wheelwell bigger (wider - taller - longer) so that the tire no longer rubs. Usually sectioning and enlarging the stock tubs is called 'mini-tubbing'. When you cut them out completely and replace with aftermarket sheetmetal, that is called 'tubbing'.

The frames are real narrow on these trucks, thanks to the side mounted fuel tanks. Here's an article where they fit 19.5" wide tires with the stock famerails, after some mods, and wider inner wheel housings, of course.
