Bought a GM CB for?

[IMG][/IMG]

Look what I just bought for a $1.99. I believe this is the correct GM CB for the 1970 era trucks. It will need a good cleaning and tuned but hey...what do you expect for $1.99.

It probably doesn't work... You better just bring it to Iowa next time you come out and I'll give you your $1.99 back....

Re: Bought a GM CB for?

That was a steal even if it does not work, there are still several places around here that repair cb radios. I'm not sure what year its correct for but I believe you could only get a 6 channel radio in 1970

Re: Bought a GM CB for?

I'm pretty sure 23 channels were normal by '70, 40 channels came next, but I don't remember when.
About fixing the rig: 2 options -- One. Go to a truck stop. There's a CB repair tech around most of them. Two. Go to your local library. Look up the make and model of the radio in "Sam's Photofacts." Those publications can tell you more about the actual build date of the rig, besides any repair data.
