New question to the rocker panels

Can anyone tell me on the floor at the rocker where your inside cab weather striping goes is that the complete rocker panel that i need to replace if the lip for the weather striping is rust off??? Here is a pic of what i'm asking about

Yup that lip is the top of the outter rocker panel.

they make a smaller, slip on rocker if you want a quick and dirty solution and the rest of the rocker is good

Like said above the rubber goes on the lip. IMO it looks like you need more work than just the rockers once you get into it. The floor looks pretty rough to me in the photos. We have left the rockers alone on some budget jobs and just bent and welded in the lip portion. However you need good steel to weld to. We hardly ever use a slip on anymore but it would work. I just don't like them as much. But heck it depends on the budget and what you are doing with tghe truck

There is also a flat piece that goes in behind the rocker you will need also unless you can get the rocker off without tearing it up too bad

So is the only two pieces i'll need is the inner rocker and outer complete rocker panel? I already have the floor pan just pulled the weatherstip off that lip and saw the rocker eaten up to.I just want to make sure that when i order from LMC i get everything i will need.Here is the list of rockers they have can someone suggest what all i need to be safe?Thanks Shaun

If you are replacing the inner rocker I would use the newer ones that came out earlier that go from pillar to pillar. That flat plate one is a piece of crap. It doesn't cover the whole area and reach the pinch weld on the lower edge very well. The newer style is good. it makes the job alot easier and cleaner to.

If you can find OEM style rockers this would be your best bet. As said in previous posts the partial replacements are POS.

I got my rockers from lmc had to do some trimming but other than that they fit pretty good.

That cause they are from TriPlus most of the time. Same stuff we sell and many other suppliers. LMC buys from the same companies we do.

your floor looks like its a later model truck than a 60-66. Generally the seat area is flat instead of the two humps.

My '63 GMC has the same trouble,rockers are solid with exception of the weatherstrip lip.
I have discovered that the contour of drivers rear radius is the same as the passengers front and from what i've seen the rears are usually not rusted.
My parts truck will be donating this section

Its kind of hard to tell from a pic the extent of any rust but it looks like you could get away with just using the full length "outer floor extension" see picture. There is also a picture showing the coverage from the inside edge of the little drop down where the sill plate goes. Its about 2.5IN. You will also need an outer rocker panel at minimum. The rest is hard to tell without more photos. We sell all the parts as well as most of the vendors on here.
