After thinking about it, when I did the rear frame section of my truck, I pulled an article from "Truckin" mag. It had a step by step article on how to prostreet the rear of 67-72 Chevy trucks. It was complete with pictures and all. I have the article somewhere, if you are intrested, I will dig it up and we can figure out how to get a copy to you or anyone else intrested. If my memory serves me, it showes you how to place coil over shocks, ladder bars, panhard bar, and wheel tubs. It also gets you started with showing you where to cut the bed floor for t he section to protrude thru. Let me know if you are intrested. Chris |

Re: New to the Forum
Chris, It would be cool if you coould find the time to dig up that information.
Even if you could tell me what issue, maybe I could order the mag. Maybe someone on this site may know what issue??? Im lookiing for all the help that I can find. I have been going back and forth with ChassisWorks out of Calif. but so far they have not give any usefull information. Im not trying to take any work from anyone just trying to build a 40 year dream. OK enough of me begging, how about more pictures of your trucks / shop. Tim |

It is not a problem. I will dig it out today. My Prostreet truck has been put away for the winter, and to make room in the garage for my 2nd "72" project. So getting you pictures of that one will be tough for a few months. Roughly 4, lots of snow here in Michigan during the winter. I will help you as much as I can on your project. I think what I have will get your truck done for you. It is not hard to do, just time consuming. Can you weld? If I could scan pictures into the forum, I can get a pile of pictures to you. Or, I can send them to a personal E-mail address. I will get back latter today with the date of the article for you. Chris |

I found the issue for you. It is called "Pro Street Truckin" it was published by Truckin magazine. This is the Winter 1996, Volume 2, NO.1 issue. This issue will show you how to build a 9" Ford rear end with coil over shocks, and backhalf that truck. It is all step by step. If you can't get hold of this thru a back issue, let me know and I will copy the pages you need and send them to you. This is what I used to build that black truck. Chris |

Re: New to the Forum
Chris,
I dont have a problem doing all the fab/weld work. One day you will need help on something and I will be the first to lend a helping hand. If you dont mind send the information to Tim.Sutter@att.net. Looks like I will have a busy winter working on the frame.........cool, Im ready. As far as time to do the truck, Ive waited 40+ years so another year or so to complete the truck is fine by me. Im just excited about the information that you have. I have been to several shops around here and they will tell you NOTHING I guess they think that Im gonna take their customers from them. Anyway, everyone have a great evening. Tim |

Re: New to the Forum
Hey Chris,
Just wanted to touch bases with you on the articals from Truckin magazine, have you found the ones that you used to do your truck??? I have searched over and over and have had no luck in finding the information. Your help would be appreciated. Hows your other project coming? Tim. |

I did find the magazine. It was from 1996, so there may not be any left from that long ago. Are you still planning to go thru with the prostreet theme? If so, I can make copies of tat section of the book and send them to you. My second truck is moving along well. I just had new frame rails formed for the rear portion, and picked up a 1984 full size Blazer 25 gallon tank and skid plate for it. I will have to move the rear crossmember rearward some, but I am rebuilding that section of the frame anyway, so no big deal. I have also have most of the frame boxed in for strength. I need to take a few new pictures to post. Regards; Chris |
