Thanks Joe! It will be as durable as my body work. . Seriously, as long as I don't do any rock crawling it should hang in there pretty good. I'll let you know when I flip it over. I've got 2 other guys to help me. I'll wrap some blankets around it just in case.

It's hard to find a good dirt road around here anymore. There are some around. They were everywhere when I was younger. I hate to say it, but I don't think this truck will ever see a dirt road again even if I can find one.

Went to work today, while there I figured it would be a good time to paint some of the smaller pieces. I've still got some more parts to spray. I ran out of room on the rack and the other racks were occupied.
With the help of some friends we got the frame flipped back over. They also helped me get the front crossmember hung in place. Has anyone else had trouble with CPP hardware packages not having the right hardware or not enough? The engine perches and PS adapter both were short/wrong hardware. I've got to go to the hardware store anyway so I'll just pick some up. It's not worth the call.

I have seen some threads on the hamb complaining about that kind of thing with cpp.
But I still maintain,that without jimmy reese and cpp we probably would not have half the stuff available that we do now for classic trucks. that does not let them off the hook for mispacking orders though... |

Build's lookin' good. Did a cpp power brake conversion - nothing metioned remaned parts. got american caliper on one side -metric on other & they said they would straighten in out for me- that was over 6 months & 4 phone calls to not even a callback when promised. also actuator rod between power booster & master needed 3/8" cut off it to work properly. have run into others with same sort of problems dealing with them. Santa Came early I got my eaton posi, 3:42 gear set, and master rebuild. I'm taking it all tommorrow to get built. I can rebuild an engine, but have no interest in rebuilding a rear end. $200 is worth it for me for a piece of mind. Plus I don't have the correct tools. I guess it is just a fear. I've almost got all of the suspension painted. Things are slowly going together. I'm waiting for new Ubolts for the lower control arms and front bushings for my rear control arms. I'm also waiting on the rear spring retainers. They should be here sometime this week.

I picked up my rear end today and I got it painted. No pix of it yet. One of my axles where pitted where the wheel bearing rolls. My builder told me there is another bearing with the seal made into it and it relocates the bearing to roll in a different area. Here are the normal replacement parts.
Here is the bearing seal combo that he used to relocate the bearing I got my rear control arm bushings today. Hear is how I pressed the old one out (with some heat). I did that prior to painting. I am in the process of pressing them in in the pic. If you plan on using a poly bushing you need to leave the outer shell in the control arm. The inner will come out first. I had to remove the outer shell prior to installing a replacement bushing. I used a cold chiesel and went around shell next to the control arm on both flanges to shrink the shell. It drove out fairly easy after doing that. Take care not to deform it. It can be used to press the new one in. While pressing I wedged a 2X4 between the ears so they don't collapse. I also got my A arm bumpers. The lowers were actually a OEM part. Which leads me to believe you can get them from GM. I don't know if they will be any cheaper. I also got some better gauges off of ebay. Mine are rusty and dingy.

With the help of sdailey we got the rearend set in place. Still waiting on parts to finish it up.
Also installing the super track bar kit. I have to remove the old track bar attach point on the third member, because the bar is longer and attaches at the right rear control arm. Also intalling the shock relocator kit. The upper brackets on the frame have to replaced with newer brackets. I got my wiring harness in the mail today. I got my inner fenders primed today for the last time (I hope) was able to get the gauge pods painted today with the same color as my frame.
