Tailgate trim

I have a 71 Cheyenne super. I wanted to see if you guys can post some pictures of your tailgates. I know there is supposed to be trim that goes across the upper section of the tailgate even with the tail gate handle. I need to see what it looks like so I can see what I need to make it right. Thanks

Re: Tailgate trim

Not a Cheyenne, but I have tailgate trim. Sorry about the crappy pic. I got mine as a kit from LMC, but they sell all the individual pieces as well.

Re: Tailgate trim

I do not have a pic handy, but the tailgate that I have off of a Super looks like any other Cheyenne tailgate (upper molding and center woodgrain trim with chrome CHEVROLET letters) EXCEPT for the fact that it has a stainless cover over the opener handle. Will post a pic if time allows.

Re: Tailgate trim

Here's a pic I found of mine, it's hard to tell in the pic but the band is woodgrain. You can see the handle trim also.-

Big Al,

All of the "Supers" I have seen have a center panel with woodgrain, small chrome "CHEVROLET" letters and a stainless cover over the latch handle like Powell

When I bought my truck these moldings were already installed so I have no idea what is correct or wrong however in the near future when I repaint the complete truck all the moldings and handles and lites are been shaved off .
