1970 chevy c10 disc brake conversion HELP!

Hello,

I have 1970 chevy c10 shortwide P/U with a 68 nose. I have heard that you can use disc brakes off of a 72 chevy pickup on a 70 but that you have to use 72 spindles as well. Also have heard that unless you get 72 a arms you have to put 72 ball joints into the 70 a arms. Any truth to this? Please let me know. Anything else I should know?

On the other hand, is there a five lug disc brake/hub that I can use. Would love to be able to use 5 x 4 3/4 bolt pattern instead. Dont want to spend a whole lot either.

Thanks, James

Search the FAQ's section. There are probably a dozen different ways to get the disc for the front of your truck. There will be write ups on all that have been used. Then you can map out a strategy determined by what parts you have can get cheap or swap for. That will keep it cheap. If you want to lower it also there are several vendors that sell kits with both 6 and 5 lug patterns.
