Thumbs up Tear Down has begun

Well I've finally gotten around to starting the 72 project. I'll be replacing the engine with a Cummins 12V turbo diesel, the trans with a NV4500, front end with a Dana 60, and the rear end with a 14 bolt. The list goes on and on and on. Right now I'm in the process of fabricating motor mounts. I'll do my best to keep you all posted.
Here are some pics of the old truck getting taken apart.

Looks like fun, I tore mine down like a year ago, and I will finally be getting the frame back from the powder coater on Friday. You get to start taking yours apart, I get to put mine back togeather. Save the money!!!!!!

Did you have to change the shock mounts on the 14 bolt? The one I got I had to change one of the mounts from the rear to the front. I was just woundering. Keep us up dated.

Looks like you've got a nice truck to start with...

And with the power I've heard those Cummins diesels are good for with some mild tweaking (they must REALLY detune them with those computers from the factory!), that thing should be able to move no problem.

I haven't yet but I will have to change the shock mounts.

Project1970 thanks, and your right about the diesel. I'm looking forward to this truck being my daily driver once again.
