Now that i see how dang warm the headers and mufflers get right under the cab, what material can i make the heat shields out of. would some 16 guage steel work? Aluminum? Just want something i can bolt to the underside of the cab.

Re: Making heat shields??

use a piece of aluminum sheet metal - about 12-16 gauge should work ok..Mount this under the cab using 4-6 pipe nipples ( 3/8" X 1" ) for spacers. Drill hole in sheet metal; insert spacer and drilll thru cab floor. Use 5/16 bolts of proper length, mounted thru the sheetmetal; pipe nipple and thru the cab floor
