Sounds like a pretty good deal without even seeing it.

Re: 1972 swb 4X4 truck?

Doesn't really look like a 6" lift but then again it's hard to tell from a pic until you stand beside it. If it's only some rust in the rockers & a few other usual places $3500 isn't bad at all. Especially with a new motor & after all, you don't see the stepsides every day!

If it's as good as the photos make it look, it'd be a money-maker as a flip, here in the hills.

yes, BUT... Is it a factory short step? We all know aboutparts swappers, being one myself. IFor example,I have a 71 Cheyenne 1/2 ton 4x4, and the first letter of the VIN is "C" for 2wd, where it should be a "K" for 4x4, so evidently the body has been swapped. The frame looks like a Suburban, as it is different than a truck frame right at the rear bumper.

YES its a factory stepside. The first letter in the vin is a K. I checked under the truck and its a factory shortbed frame not cut.

Do shortbed fleetsides and short bed stepsides have different frame configurations? How are they designated on the VIN?

That was my next question...

Still looks as if it is a nice truck for the $$$ regardless if step or fleet

Re: 1972 swb 4X4 truck?

No difference in VIN, only in model number- fleetside model is CE/CS/KE/KS 10734, don't know the stepside model number but prefixes are the same.
