If this one works out count me in on the 1979 set as well. Just start a new thread for it so that we know when to send the money for it. ...Joe

I'm down, but my Bank doesn't authorize PayPal payments. I can FedEx you some $$$.

I'm really interested in the '85 Laserdisk conversion. What are you getting for those?

Re: Who wantes to see 1973 dealer/promo DVD's?

Everyone, with my own contribution and all of yours (including the ones that are coming via snail mail), it looks as if we might be all paid up for the 73 conversion price (it is hard to say until I get the official bill). Now this does not include what I will have to pay for the DVD's and postage...but that should be inexpensive compared to everything else. If we get more donations, that will go for the 79 conversion. SO I encourage anyone esle who is remotely interested to chip in, so we can get both DVD's for the price of one.

Re: Who wantes to see 1973 dealer/promo DVD's?

I agree. Like I said, the more that chip in the cheaper it will be for all of us.

We'll convert the 73 first, then spend any cash we have left over on the 79 set. We will more than likely have to chip in again for it to make up the difference.

Once the 79 is done, we'll do the 77.

Re: Who wantes to see 1973 dealer/promo DVD's?

Hey Jeff if you guys ever run across the 1986 Chevrolet one I'd REALLY be interested in it too because that is what year my truck is.

Looking forward to seeing the 1973 set since it is really the most historical of them all in my opinion since it was the first year of this body style.

I'm curious as to how far back these films actually go. Did they have them for the 1972 and back or does anybody know? Just keep us posted on where we are on the 1973 and 1979 sets. Maybe some more people will jump in on this and help us out. ...Joe

Re: Who wantes to see 1973 dealer/promo DVD's?

Update on this.

The conversion place called me today, they ran into a minor snag. Most super 8 films have magnetic track sound, these 73 films we are converting have optical track sound. She told me I have 2 options. The first being convert them with the equipment they have video only, or wait a little longer while she tracks down some additional equipment that will allow them to convert them with video and audio. I told her I want audio, so it will be a little bit longer, she estimated an additional 2 weeks. The 73 film has already been put on reels and is ready to go, and the additional equipment is available, but takes a little time to set up.

Also, the 77 tapes Joe and I purchased never happened. After I won the auction and never received the tapes, I contacted the seller and he claims they have been lost. Our money was refunded, but the 77 tapes are history.

I'll keep everyone posted on the 73 film.

Definately wait for the sound! That's a shame about the '77 tapes but at least you got your money back on them. Let us know when the '73 films are ready. I can't wait to watch them! ...Joe
