CAUTION: I do not condone this in any way.

A lot of people have posted threads on later model stepside beds with a lot of criticism for the mismatching fender wells. I was noticing today that the mid 80 to early 90 F*** flareside bed had rounded fender wells and body lines similar to the late model Chevy stepside beds. I am no PhotShop expert but I did do a little cut and paste maybe someone else can do better. Just an idea for those nonconformists.

Actually, I think the body lines on a newer chevy stepside line up better than the Ford bed.

I was just thinking about that last night on the way home when one of the F@#d steps pulled up beside me. Like 68 Suburban said, it looks like the step plate area is lower than the later GMs and might not line up as well. I was curious about the differences in bed mounting though at how feasible it might really be.

No offense but this just isn't right no matter what you use. An old truck will never "look" right with anything than what was originally on it. Keep you old GM all old GM! LOL

Hmmm...raise that lower line up just a bit and it would look pretty nice. Although its still the same ol story here...this will only look "right" it its your ride and it's what YOU want to do.

sont think anyone would want to put a ford bed on their chev. sounds about as brilliant as my friend who wants to put as cobra in his grandpas 65 jackass i told him

The only stepside bed that looks right on these trucks is the original ones. The only exterior mods i really like is a nice cowl hood, 1-piece windows, and maybe a body drop. I think the newer beds lookd good on newer trucks, and chop-tops make me sick....lol but its your truck. It would get a lot of looks though

I have seen many people do many things that would be considered different. Including 9" Ford rear ends under chevys and chevy engines in old Ford metal. Just because its different doesnt mean that no one wants to, has done or has thought of doin something in the past. I know I am not building my truck for others, only for myself and my tastes. Saying that I will still not put a Ford bed on my truck, just a thought for those out there looking for something outside the norm.

I saw this post awhile back and it reminded me of a truck I saw in Topeka Ks in the mid 90s when I had a 66 chevy 4x4, took me some time to dig out the pics and scan them but here they are, I dont really like mismatching parts myself but I thought this truck looked right this way, early 80s ford bed on a 66.
