Emergency Brake Problems
the emergency brake on my jimmy will not work and the with the truck being a 4 spd its a pretty important part. ive checked it out and everything seems to be hooked up and correctly? also the truck is lifted 4 inches and i dont know if that mite have anything to do with it? any suggestions will be greatly appricated!

Won't work 'how' exactly?
Pedal won't depress? Cable won't move? Shoes don't engage? Gotta tell us more if we're going to be able to help. |

the pedal depresses but the shoes dont engage. and when i pull the brake release the pedal wont release i have to pull the pedal back into place by hand

Is the cable moving freely?
Is everything within the rear brake drums hooked up and working? Do you have the drums off? It's a really basic system, pedal pulls cable, cable pulls lever to push out the shoes. If any of the system is not connected or working, you need to find that part and fix &/or replace. 1st step would be to make sure your cable from the pedal to the rear loop is free and not rusted into the casing. (which happens a lot from lack of use) |

hey thanks alot! my truck set for a long time before i bought so the rust not allowing the cable to move is most likely the problem! thanks for the help
