HEI fuse block wire?

I'm putting in an HEI on my 73 with a 454. I have pushed the clip through now do I just replace the resistance wire and put the clip on a new wire? Does the terminal that the new wire will plug into (same one the old one went in) have the 12 volts ALL THE TIME that's needed? Or do I have to replace the terminal wire also?
Thanks.

If I remember right, its been awhile, but that should be all you have to do,put the end on the new wire, plug the other end into the HEI.Hook up your vacuum line ,set your timing and your done.I hope this helps.
