That thing between the transmision and the floor
My son and I are doing a frame off ,ground up restoration on his 90 s10 2wheel drive pickup. We have the frame sandblasted , painted and Lowered .Tommorrow we will pick up the resurfaced flywheel so we can put the motor back together with the tranny with the new clutch and install it back on the frame. Then we will be ready to put the cab back on.Which brings me to my question, where can we get that gasket thing that goes between the floor and the top of the transmission? Does someone make that as a replacement part? Some mice chewed up the old one.

Re: That thing between the transmision and the floor
Check LMC, or hit a few bone yards, is my guess. Are you talking about the piece that goes around the shifter??

Re: That thing between the transmision and the floor
The 911 Turbo (type 997) has a few improvements. It has an output of 480 bhp at 6,000 rpm, a 3.6 litre engine, a rated torque of 620 Nm and a maximum torque available between 1,950 and 5,000 rpm. All these numbers are translated into driving performance, as the 911 Turbo with six-speed manual transmission only needs 3.9 seconds to get from zero to 100 km/h. The coupe reaches 200 km/h in 12.8 seconds. Despite these performance statistics, Porsche developers succeeded to keep the average consumption to 12.8 liters per100 km.

Re: That thing between the transmision and the floor
Do you mean the shifter boot or a gasket. I cant think of if its a gaskets there or not. But i agree with check the dealer, first gen s10s arent that old yet and the dealer has alot of parts left laying around. Ive got a bunch of little nit pick wear and tear parts from my local dealer and it wasnt any more than an autoparts.

Re: That thing between the transmision and the floor
Its my favorite part of owning these things, for now you can still get most parts through a dealer. Ive got window parts, pulleys, and a few cables all from the dealer. I grow tired of replacing new cheapy parts store parts. But either a junk yard, maybe lmc, or a dealer. thats probably an odd part to find

Re: That thing between the transmision and the floor
I called the dealer the other day and altho he had a list number for that part he said it was discontinued and didn't show it in stock anywhere else,SO has anyone ever seen this as an aftermarket thing or does anyone have a good one to sell or give to a good cause?

LMC probably has it, www.LMCtruck.com page 121. If not, for that piece you'll probaby have to hit a junkyard.
