Tranfer Case Shift Pattern...
I have a 84 blazer transfer case and I was wondering if sumone could tell me off hand hoew it shifts...this is assuming forward to dash and back toward seat movement (Top to Bottom
I guess?) 1. 4H, 2H, Neutral, 4L? 2. 4H, 4L, Neutral, 2H? 3. 4L, 4H, Neutral, 2H? 4. 2H, 4H, Neutral, 4L? Any of those? Seems like a stupid question I know...but the transfer case doesn't work well and it no longer has a visable lable on the nob. Thanks in advance for any info.

IIRC, your NP208, from the dash back should be:
2H 4H N (have to push the lever to the right) 4L (big throw back toward the seat) It gets hard to remember, since I have the '70 Blazer, an '87 Suburban (should be like your '84), and an '01, all 4WD.

I have a 1971 GMC in Wisconsin for sale. New tires, very tired engine, some rust drives good, but you would have to haul it to canada or bring a 50 gallon drum of oil with you. $1800..Zoomy

I think I figured it out but it doesn't seem to be what you think it might be. Back toward the seat is 2H I'm sure of that and (on top) of that it (feels like) neutral, so it would most likely be 4H first then 4L right? I would think shifting from 2H to 4H through 4L shouldn't be done on the fly...man I wish I was a bit more mechanically inclined...

If what you are saying is correct, it is not the NP208 that would have come in your truck originally. I have never seen a GM t-case with 2H back by the seat. NP205, NP208 and NP241/261 etc. all have 2HI and 4HI next to each other so that you can shift back and forth on the fly.
