do i even need this?

hey all.. still working away with my "majical" oil leak..
wow these things at times leak like a squeezed sponge!
but i stiiiiill love em
here we go.. background story
350 swap n a 83 that came with a (305)
most of teh wiring is kinda ramdon and tapped into.. ive rewired alot.. but did not cut off plugs i did no now where they went or what to (a few of em AC)
but this little bugger..
oil pressure sending unit?
maby? cant remember i put it in 6 months ago but it leaks now.. and now im annoyed and want to plug it..
the last oil leak i have and i want it gooooone

That's an oil pressure sending unit all right. You need one somewhere, to tell the gauge what it needs to know.

They are usually behind the distributor screwed into the top of the block.

If you have one elsewhere, you need an 1/8 npt plug to put in where that one is mounted and do away with the leak.

Otherwise, oil pressure senders do fail periodically and cause significant leaks when they do. Any local parts store will have a new one for you, cheap too.

seweet yeah i just did the top one and that's the one that is used in teh wirign bundle
a while back i swapped between the two a few times on what was plugged in or not and after installing the lower one and having it connected i got nothign .. so i just ignreod it until now when it started leaking again..
