Can anybody help Jeremy out? I'm the board member who sold it to Jeremy, and I don't remember which one is which. Any help would be appreciated. I don't want Jeremy to have to wait too long to install his tach.

Why is that apart? Where is the mounting plate? Here are 2 threads on this.

Re: Camaro tach dash questions W/Pics

Ive looked at the above links and it still does not tell me anything.
The "module" i have has three bolts that do something. Is one them a power and the others coil and ground? How would i tell them apart with an ohm meeter?
Any help would be greatly appreciated. The two wires comming from the tach in the above pics are black and white and are directly connected to the circut board. none of the three bolts connected to the circut board are next to or look to be an obvious black or white wire.
HELP!

Re: Camaro tach dash questions W/Pics

If it helps, The two bolts in the second from bottom pic, only go through a small ammount of the circut board. The third bolt looks to use the most of the circut board?

Re: Camaro tach dash questions W/Pics

What year tach is that? Looks different from mine.

Mine has 2 connections on a rear mounting plate(4"x4"?) that has the main circuit board (2"x3"?) and tach/housing mounted to it. Yours looks like it has been modified or for a different year? One connection is 12v the other is for the coil...and a ground.

Re: Camaro tach dash questions W/Pics

I think that he is looking for some advice on how to test it with the continuity tester. Any advice?
I am no expert on them.

Re: Camaro tach dash questions W/Pics

Again, it looks like you are missing the main circuit board, the insulator board & the mounting plate. In fact, what you are showing, doesn't even look like what is shown in any of the FAQs. Mine is different than that also. Do you have a picture of the front of that tach?

At any rate, look at the way I wired mine. On the back of the tach from left to right, is black wire to the coil(or tach) on the HEI distributor cap, Red wire to a 12 volt source & the green wire to chassis ground.
