1948 build up, s-10 swap...

This is going to be one slow build, I work on this one when I need a brake from the 68 that is almost road worthy. I can't wait to work on this one full time though. It is going to have a military, rat rod theme that way I can paint it and preserve it. I have an s-10 frame that is bagged and sitting on the ground. The truck will be as low as I can get it. I am even going to section the running boards. Here are a few pictures of what I have so far. Some of the work on the s-10 frame is going to have to be reworked like the 4-link. Enjoy..

Man I admire your courage to take on that one. Check out sgtusmc's thread for his USMC themed ride. Keep us posted on the progress.

Semper Fi Devil, Looks like you've got a good start on it. It kinda looks like my cab when I first got it. So what color are you gonna paint it? Solid OD, camo? Just remember we didn't start painting our trash camo till around 75. However, it might look crazy if you could blend marpat in with the rust. I wish you the best in your build, and keep the pics flowing.
Echo 7 Sierra, out!

I have a friend in supply that might be able to get some paint for you. Give me a few days and I'll PM you.

Hey junkman1jmc, I checked out your myspace page. I like the GMC man. I sent you a friend req. Are you gonna do the military paint also?

That would be sweet! I was motor t and had access to the paint, but I have been out since 98. I love the texture it had and how dull it was.

Thats going to look good. I love the two tone on these trucks too. I am back and forth on weather or not to do it as well. I want one solid color for a true military theme. I have a dark maroon bench seat from an s-10 as well. That will be the only color in the truck.
