Kick panel speaker assmy problems
I can not get these to fit the passenger kick panel due to the a/c. Has anyone else had this problem. I am going to try to make them pay the return shippping as it is not my fault the do not fit.

Re: Kick panel speaker assmy problems
Let me guess...you bought them at LMC right? I had the same problem. I used a dremel tool to custom fit them. No biggie.

Do they work well? I've been checking them out, worth the price?

Re: Kick panel speaker assmy problems
Was it an a/c truck if so it looks like it needs more than a LITTLE trimming?

Yes, it is an A/C truck. They fit perfect when I was done.

Re: Kick panel speaker assmy problems
Great! I think lmc only offers them with the speakers. Still a pretty fair price though

Re: Kick panel speaker assmy problems
LEDZEPP do you have just close up pic of the passenger side. My truck has some kind of vacuum deal that is in the way.

Re: Kick panel speaker assmy problems
I have removed the panels since these pics were taken. The Vacuum setup on the pass side is for your recirculating air, when the A/C is running. You will have to drill holes in the speaker panels to re-mount it.

Re: Kick panel speaker assmy problems
Why'd you take them off if you don't mind my asking? Anything I should worry about before ordering some?
Thanks for your help |

Re: Kick panel speaker assmy problems
I took them off because I went with a factory original AM/FM set-up.

Re: Kick panel speaker assmy problems
You can probably find better ones than LMC offers. I have seen others (probably the ones 67chevyredneck is talking about) that look like they would fit better. I already had these, and it was easy enough to fabricate them to fit. I figured that any I got would have fitment issues, being that they are all foreign made.

Re: Kick panel speaker assmy problems
I don't know if they fit any better and they may be the same ones but Wes at Classic Heartbeat had them hanging on the wall in his shop/store when I visited there a while back.
Bare panels no speakers, reasonable price. |

Re: Kick panel speaker assmy problems
www.onlinecarstereo.com has a hole selection of speakers at around 30-40% off. I guess they get over stocked parts or what ever. I bought my $130 kenwoods for 68, and the CST10 just rocks now!

Re: Kick panel speaker assmy problems
I'm lucky....my doors had already been cut and had some blown-out 6x9's. I have debated this over and over in my mind, and the holes will stay and get the new pair of 6x9's that I have in waiting. Kick panels will be carpeted. Yeah, I have A/C, too.

Re: Kick panel speaker assmy problems
This is the best pic I could find of them before I installed them, I picked them up at the Charlotte Auto Fair, I think I bought them from Christian's Classics.

Re: Kick panel speaker assmy problems
Check Ebay, I saw some on there just a few weeks ago. There was a company that was selling them for Chevy trucks, Chevelle's, Camaros, 57 Chevy's etc.
