temp sending unit location?

I am installing a new gauge dash. I had an idiot light dash. I think I found the location of the temp switch on the drivers side head. I am getting a new sending unit for the gauge but I also see what looks like a sending unit on the passenger side head. It has a spade type connector. I am not sure what this is. Can anyone help?

Thanks

Usually they are in the head.(sometimes the intake) There is a spot on either side in the head. My BBC is on the driver side with a plug in that position on the pass. side. Hope this helps.

The one on pass side is for the electric valve for the vacuum can. It kept vacuum from reaching the dist. until the engine was warm for smog control.
