ECE trailing arms and Sway bars

As it says i have ECE square tube trailing arms and they have no holed for the sway bar to connect to. So some ideas i have are, Drill two holes all the way through and mount the pivots to them by 5in bolts and nuts, or cut two holes and weld some nuts flush. i am going for the first because it is so much easier and faster. my worry is the arms may lose some strength.

If you are worried about losing strength,I would drill the holes oversized and sleeve it with piece of tubing that has the appropriate I.D. for your bolt to fit through. That or do the same thing, but use a sleeve that you can tap to the proper thread size to allow you to bolt from the top.

Re: ECE trailing arms and Sway bars

I did this same thing a few months ago and I went with the second way you mentioned. Now what if you weld a piece of 1/4" flat stock to the side bottom of it and drill and mount you sway bar to that?
