Shock Absorber Mount ?

Working on a SWB 68 frame. Trying to get it ready for the road. What is the fix for the upper front shock absorber mount? The hole in the frame is to big from ware or just to many miles. What do you guys use to fix the problem?

Re: Shock Absorber Mount ?

I agree with cdowns, weld it, I have seen washers welded in as well to allow the shock mount to bolt up.

Re: Shock Absorber Mount ?

Or if you're not a welder, ECE makes a kit to strengthen up that area that is bolt on IIRC.

Re: Shock Absorber Mount ?

I made my own mounts. I had lowered the truck but I wanted to use over the counter shocks for it so I made some mounts bolted them to the frame and they are a little taller than the frame rail.

Get out and drive the truck this summer and have some fun!
It sucks not being able to hear!

LWB trucks rule, if you don't think so measure your SWB!
After talking to tech support at Air Lift I have found out that the kit I need is 60811. Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs.

Re: Shock Absorber Mount ?

Early Classic Enterprises and Classic Performance Products sell a kit to bolt mounts to the top of the frame.
