Re: Bad day, frustrated. Brake help please.
Sweet! Those can still be turned!
Any chance of a price drop Hold everything for me. I'll get it at charlotte, or the board meet, or whatever. I'll try to clean those drums up and see if advance will take them back

Re: Bad day, frustrated. Brake help please.
When I converted my axle to 5lug the new drums did not have the addjustment hole. I have had the same problem in the past that you had with the lip holding the drums on. So I drilled holes in the backing plates to allow for future adjustment. Here is a thread about what I did. I do have pictures if you want to see them, it turned out great.

Re: Bad day, frustrated. Brake help please.
Wow, y'all are great!
slednD1 the shipping from cali would probably be pretty $. I think it cost me $30 to have a set of used ECE rotors shipped from Texas 3 years ago. Thanks for the offer, but I'm going to go with Geoff's stuff, I can pick that up when I go to the Charlotte show. Its70 thanks for the tip! rob32472, I'd love a free rear end, but I don't have anywhere to store it, and I don't really have a need for a complete rear end. I live in an apartment still Thanks for the offer though! Geoff, thanks for all the help man! Looking at that pic, I might not be missing *too* much of my system. I know for sure that i don't have any of the lines going to the red highlighted lines. I'll have to crawl under there and see what I actually have and don't have.

Re: Bad day, frustrated. Brake help please.
Just a suggestion or idea maybe.
When we go to the meet have a brake clinic for you! Have everybody cheap in and redo your brakes for you. We could bring a floor jack and some stands and get those brakes working before you left for home.

Re: Bad day, frustrated. Brake help please.
Nothing like pouring salt into a wound, huh? I've done A LOT of brake jobs before. This one sucked. My front brakes are great I need to get my wife to sit in the cab on saturday while I bleed them, but even without bleeding they're working pretty well I drove around my apartment a few times and no more squealing They'd been lightly squealing for a year or so when I applied the brakes, but last week they started a full on squeal while the truck was rolling. Other than the old pads being cracked where they rivet to the shoe, I didn't see any metal on metal anywhere. They were probably cracked from me beating on the drum with a rubber hammer trying to get the drum off. I had put off doing the brakes hoping my wife and I would have a house/garage by now. I've been putting off my Silverado for the same reason. They still work well, but the front rotors are slightly warped. They're still good for a while. They still have good pads. On a positive note, I know for sure that my "BRAKE" dummy light works in the dash

Re: Bad day, frustrated. Brake help please.
That was my daughters first car. She wrecked it. Flipped it 6 times. Lost controll of it. She was putting a CD in the radio and looked up and was off the road. Tried to correct it but it slid side ways with her then dug into the ground and started flipping. We almost lost her too! She was at Greenville hospital for about 4 months. Rehab the whole deal. She had to learn to walk use her arms everything again.
She is fine now but she had a hard road for awhile. She got her CNA now and is going to Goerge Town Horry county tech school in Myrtle beach SC. She turned 17 while in the hospital and she turns 21 next week (18). This was her learning to walk again with my wife. Bigger shot of it. Here is the link with more pictures of it also. http://67-72chevytrucks.com/gallery/...ry.php?cat=802
