Re: bought a fan shroud and it doesnt fit..
Do you mean the fan just barely scrapes the inside of the shroud? I had to take my brother-in-laws motor loose on the mounts and get it back straight in the frame. It was just off enough to make the fan hit on the passenger side of the shroud.

Got any pics? I'd just see to find a smaller fan by a bit

I have noticed that they will rub sometimes when them bottom clips are not in right. I think that they have two different size clips that will fit.

I think there is room to move these a little left or right depending on which side it's rubbing.Mine rubbed when I made a left turn.(took me forever to figure out where the noise was coming from)Loosen the bolts and move it.It's only about an 8th of inch of adjustment.Tighten back up.If you're barely touching you could do this.

Re: bought a fan shroud and it doesnt fit..
If you have a long water pump and a flex fan the fit is snug, but can be adjusted as stated above to make it not rub.
As far as the suspension, I think that's too expensive. I paid $75 for my whole set up out of a yard. I got the complete suspension, front brake lines, booster and master cylinder. It came from a '71 GMC. I also went ahead and bought all new suspension components to rebuild it too (that gets expensive fast!) I think you can do better on the price.

I walked out of my yard with 73+ spindles and calipers for 60 ish. The rest was new parts (for my own good).

Re: bought a fan shroud and it doesnt fit..
For your safety NO on trimming the fan blades. Have you considered measuring the fan width and shopping for one a little smaller. If you trim your old one and don't get it perfectly balanced you could have it blow apart(flying metal) not good !!!

Cutting a flex fan is suicide.
Their explosive enough as is. |

Re: bought a fan shroud and it doesnt fit..
i had the same thing happen to me. i just marked a line on each blade and took a bench grinder to the blades. very little was removed. problem solved.
