My 67 needs a new grill and tailgate, what to do?
Well my 67 is FINALLY getting put together and is at the painter but the center bar of my grill is cut and missing and my tailgate is rusted and trashed beyond repair so what should i do?
I don't have a problem spending the money for the reproduction parts from a vendor IF THEY FIT but years ago i bought a front fender that was supposed to be "an exact reproduction stamped from the original mold" and it doesn't fit worth a flip so i'm kind of hesitant to go that route again unless i can get some feedback from people who have found ones that fit right out of the box. My truck is custom so i don't care about original parts so long as they fit and look correct. I plan to relocate the handle to the inside of the tailgate and smooth the outside so i'd hate to tear up a decent original tailgate unless i have to. If you guys know of a place to get a grill and tailgate thats ready to spray and install then let me know where? I want to move on this quickly, this project has been on hold for far too long now. On a side note, where can i find wood for a swb thats already stained and cleared and ready to install? I would prefer the kind that has the hidden mounts and will work with the hidden mount bed strips. Thanks in advance for your help. |

There is a pretty nice looking grill on ebay. Shippings to high for me but it's in Phoenix so it might be better for you ebay #280312289297

I hit the parts section and ebay and it seems that everyone wants about what a repro grill costs new for a rusty one. I'm just trying to figure out how well the reproduction ones fit before i buy and old one and start investing in having it fixed. |
