Body mounts?
I have a '72 long bed and the motor is out. I need to replace the mounts and was looking for a little advice.
1. Anyone have any opinions on rubber vs. poly mounts. 2. What's the best way to do the job? 3. Should the bolts in the cab floor be welded? |

1. Anyone have any opinions on rubber vs. poly mounts. Use the rubber. 2. What's the best way to do the job? I would do the fronts first, then the rears. Take the front bolts out and you should be able to jack one side of the cab up at a time enough to slide the old mount out and the new mount in. After the fronts are replaced and tightened down then do the rears. Doing it this way should keep everything in alignment. 3. Should the bolts in the cab floor be welded? The front ones on my '71 were but I didn't weld them when I put them back in. personal choice.... LockDoc

Poly mounts are not good unless you will be road racing?
