Re: 8 lug slots
I found the ones I have there. They pop up pretty often.Alot of people are afraid they can`t get tires. Then,I guess the wheels should be cheap for those willing to take a chance, right?

Re: 8 lug slots
most all truck stops have polishers on site. i dont know if there is one near you, but if it is a truck stop and they wash/detail , they polish.

Wet sand with 600 grit (maybe 400 in a few rough places), then go to 1200 grit, maybe some rubbing compound then use the Mother's polish. Most importantly is patience with lots of elbow grease!!!

Re: 8 lug slots
agreed. But, aren't 16.5 most commonly found in popular off road tires? I think the problem is it's hard to find a decent stock sized 16.5 tire like a 9.50x16.5.

Re: 8 lug slots
Yeah,12.50 x 16.5s are the most available, then all the good of road treads in bigger sizes.9.50s are all you can find anymore for standard size.

So wanted to show them off since I put about 3 hours of work in each wheel. I used acid, then wet sanded with 240 grit, then 600, 1000, 1200, & 1500. I decided to use the Mothers polish on just the rim bands since the centers were still a little rough in places. I'm tickled with the look & results!

Re: 8 lug slots
I'm gonna leave the centers like they are. With a few more hours of wetsanding I could have them smooth enough to polish too, but I like this look...a little different

Anyone ever heard or seen another set. the fronts are 15x7 NOS westerns and have never been mounted but they have been handled a lot and the rears are 15x8.5 and have been used alot but are in decent shape after a few hours of polishin, just a few dings but no rash

Re: 8 lug slots
pulltilbroke, I have two of the 8-lug 15" wheels identical to yours. I got them for my Longhorn trailer but am not sure now if I will use them since I have another set of 16.5's for the trailer as well. I got them because I thought they were rare. They won't fit the front of a disc brake 3/4 ton without considerable grinding but they fit fine on the rears. I have not tried them on the front of my drum equipped Longhorn yet.
