Gas tank coating
Does anyone have a recommendation for a coating for the inside of a new aluminum tank. I have someone to make the tank for me ( alot cheaper than $400), and I need to find out if there is a coating, or if a coating is even needed?

When I rebuilt my bike I used an ancient coffin tank I found in a pile of parts behind what used to be a Harley shop.
I had a local boat builder clean and coat it for me. They make custom tanks for the jet boats they build and do all their work in house. I seem to remember JC Whitney's motorcycle edition selling some sort of rust eater and coating system.

Yeah, I ve found tank coating, but no one recommends it for a new tank, just the old ones that you are cleaning out and want to convert the rust and such inside to something useable.
Guess that I'll keep looking. Thanks |
