Wow! E-Bay

Not mine. But I would rather spend $19,000 on this than a newer one. Course you wouldn't cry if some yahoo crashed into your newer one.

All original? What's the toggle switch above the ignition switch for? Can't imagine that being factory.

THe rims and exhaust tips don't seem too original either.

Re: Wow! E-Bay

The guy has it on Boston craigslist too. http://boston.craigslist.org/nos/cto/1052682531.html For $25,000. For that much money i could put together 4 really nice trucks.

I think you are right. I thought faded top too, but if it is factory paint like he says it is, it would have the dark green on the top of the doors and on the a A pillars and not just the cap of the roof. It appears to me be one of the old spray-on vinyl tops. They were very popular in the 70's, and I really believe that's what it has. I know they were dealer installed on Fords of that vintage. I wonder if Chevy did the same?

Re: Wow! E-Bay

Gm did do spray on tops, but according to the GMC add I have here, it was only in black or white.
All original.... like the driving lights, chrome headlight 1/2 shields, snap on bed cover, cheesey tail pipe tips, exhaust not in stock location, later model wheels, add on stickers on the air cleaner, sound deadener on the frame and wheel wells.... and it wasn't the first to come with 396. '68 was.
Very nice truck... looks TOO nice tobe "unrestored" IMO, but I could be wrong.
Either way, I don't see it ever getting 19K on this market.

Almost looks like he is selling off both toys to try and keep from going into forclosure on the home while he tries to sell it. Hope I'm wrong on that too.

Re: Wow! E-Bay

What really kills me - the bed cover is the style they did back in the early 80's - everyone of the snaps is screwed into the sheet metal of the bed Thats 74 holes drilled into the bed side
I look at it and just see tacky

WOW!!! Nice damn truck! As a diehard 67/72 GM truck lover I`m drooling all over myself looking at that thing.I`d pay that kinda money in a heartbeat,if I was in the market.Every piece on the truck isn`t factory or from the dealer.Original refers to unrestored as well as stock other than a few appearance accessories."All paint and parts original to vehicle",says it all.All original parts are still on there.None of the original parts have been changed. If you want to get technical,I`m sure filters, battery, tires, exhaust, etc. are changed. That goes w/o saying.

Yep, my '69 beater still has a functional one. It still has the emissions decal on the radiator support, too.

What you guys are refering to as a bed cover is actually a tonneau cover and a bed cover is a hard cover that many incorrectly call tonneau covers.Tonneau covers where "only" held on by snaps or toggles, both screwed to body.It wasn`t until the`90s that manufactured frame-type tonneaus came out that clamp w/o drilling.

Re: Wow! E-Bay

Nice looking truck but in this economy I have seen some very nice trucks selling for way less than you could find a year and a half ago.I have seen 2 72 cheyenne super shortbed loaded bb trucks in the last month that were super nice for $15,000 .Of course I spend hours and hours on craigslist checking every listing on the west coast and some in between. If you have any money saved it is a good time to find a deal.I just bought a rustfree 72 cheyenne super 20 ,bb tilt tach loaded in ca for $2700 No speaker holes in doors .uncut dash .I have to put tires on it they are dry rotted from setting but I think its a steal in my opinon.

Re: Wow! E-Bay

Well a tonneau can be a bed cover,but is also(and originally)a cover for a top-down roadster.I can`t spell frech fri.
This truck has some funky "old man" stuff put on there with the very love that also preserved this truck so well for 40 years for one of us to simply unscrew and remove. At least it was tastefully done, nothing I can`t live with.The`50s exhaust tips would go,pronto!I`d rather deal with all those 1/16" snap holes than a rotted out bed floor any day.I`d like that truck with narrow whitewalls, full wheelcovers, and red wheels peaking around the edge.

Re: Wow! E-Bay

Curious did GM paint the ac ball housings in 69, also would think the window crank/inside door handle bezels would be brown not black. Sorry I just question the accuracy of it being untouched.Don't get me wrong the truck looks nice, maybe to nice to be a totally untouched original. I also wonder about the top.
