Has anyone ben able to make those "Sachse" hinges work?

I purchased a set of Sachse hinges but only prior to reading some of the issues you guys are having in here. Anyway, before I open them, will they work? HAs anyone got them to operate without rubbing the cowl?

man i know what your going thru! i had the same problem with those hinges. Scotts hotrods told me how to make them work. you have to make a recessed pocket in your firewall to make them work. We did something similiar with the same result. We cut the lip ( wire gutter lip) off the firewall and made the firewall flat, then attatched the hinges directly to the firewall and hood opened with no problem! This is the long route and more work for sure, but the way my paint and body guy wanted to go and it worked. Scotts way will work also cause i verified it with Sachse shop myself. Call them, they have even had the problem themselves on certain vehicles based on what the guy told me and that is the way the handle when they run into it. Good Luck!!
