New Toy! WIW?

Just added this to the bunch, wasn't really looking for another project, but as you can see I couldn't turn it down. Anywaays it is a half ton with 4.11's and the rockwell t-case and a 4-speed, it has a 70 LT1 350( already checked the suffix codes and it's for real! )Looks like it just needs a little work and its going on the road, it runs great and everything works. Only bad thing is someone installed a sunroof. So what do ya'll think?

Re: New Toy! WIW?

Nice.Where in Virginny are you?I think you did good. One plus is it has 4.11s.With the tires you can fit you`ll need them.Is it an original 4wd or body swap? Can`t see the frame rails good enough to tell. Those factory alloys are kinda nice to have on there.
What does that emblem say on the 1/4?Is it a "Custom"?

Re: New Toy! WIW?

thanks for the nice comments all. Special-K it is a factory 4x4, The emblem says 4x4 some cheap stick on! I plan on taking the body lift off next week, it has a 4 inch susp. lift anyways and I have never been a fan of body lifts, I'm from Gloucester, Va.

Re: New Toy! WIW?

What's the engine code #'s? I have a 70 RS/SS Camaro with the original matching number LT1 350 in it, but like to see others. Nice truck, I'd guess 25-4500 depending on the overall shape of the truck (hidden rust, etc?) What'd you pay if you don't mind?

Re: New Toy! WIW?

70 rs/ss suffix code is ctu, heads are 3973414, block is 3970010. I have looked all over this thing and can't find any rust other than a lil bit of surface rust in places, I traded my bass boat for it a and 66 c10 custom cab lwb parts truck for my dads 65 swb stepper, the 66 also came with a munice m21 close ratio 4 speed sitting in the floorboard.

Re: New Toy! WIW?

I got a little time this weekend and wanted to see how the front would look with the trim on it. These stripes have got to go! I picked up some 35x12.50 thornbirds on friday and picked up some old skool 15x10 alum. wagon wheels no pics yet but will have soon. I'm hoping to have the truck on the road in a few weeks and I've decided to stick with the 3" body lift and make brackets to bring the bumpers back up.

Re: New Toy! WIW?

if you guys *******************

Hello shooterpcb , Welcome to the site. Unfortunately this post is essentially a WTB or Want To Buy thread; and since your name is in pink I can only conclude you are a non paying member. Non paying members are not allowed to post things for sale, Whats it Worth, or Want to Buy threads. Also there is a section for WTB, WIW, and for sale items, this section is really more for talking about trucks and projects. So unfortunately this will be modified by a moderator....me. Good luck finding what you need however.

Re: New Toy! WIW?

Check the numbers on the M21, they might just match the LT-1.
Could be both engine and trans came out of a Vette or Z28.

Re: New Toy! WIW?

Thanks for all the input guys, I miss my boat a little bit since it has been nice outside. But, I've been keeping busy. As far as the m21 tell me about it, it seems like everyone wants one, he he. People etheir have wanted to buy it or the Lt1, but I do have a big block 2wd swb that the m21 might just find its way in one day, I live about 5 min away from clean67 special K, I decided to keep the body lift and just bought a new one yesterday, I kinda like it being that high, getting in and out is not realy a issue since I'm 24.

Re: New Toy! WIW?

the heads on a 70 LT1 should be casting #3927186 3/8 studs and guide plates 2.02 & 1.60 valves factory block should have 11-1/2 to 1 high dome forged pistons, pink rods, steel crank, solid lift cam, factory gm aluminum intake 010 4 bolt block in stock form.360 hp factory rated in Z28 and 370 hp in corvette same motor just higher rated in vet.I have never seen an LT1 in rs or ss not to say it couldn't be ordered with one.I like it,nice truck.
