TH350 kick down adjustment

The idea is to have the kick down cable pulled all they way out at WOT correct? I've noticed that my truck tends to shift pretty early out of 1st, and doesn't tend to kick down into 1st like it used to a few weeks ago. Just pulls all the way through 2nd and into third when floored. Just curious to if that has to do with the kick down adjustment

I like to set it to catch just a little ways before WOT. Seems to work better for me. I does sound like yours is adjusted too far forward though, loosen the bolt and slide it back a little, tighten it down and take a spin. Repeat as needed.

Re: TH350 kick down adjustment

I personally like using the shifter rather then letting the trans try to do it. Shifter never lets me down.

Re: TH350 kick down adjustment

I have a much different looking adjuster. When I was messing with it tonight, you push down on a D shaped silver button to loosen the adjuster. When you released, it locked it back down. Haven't gotten to test drive it though. Set it so that it pulled the cable all the way out just before WOT by a hair, I'll see tomorrow if it starts kickin down earlier.
