mach 1s are slow
yesterday on my way home from the paintball field as i got on the interstate this guy in a a 73 mach 1 kept yelling at me, lets race. so i waited until we had sufficient space in front of us and then we took off man that car was slow i wooped him in my 3/4 ton i was so amazed that i had done that and you should have seen the look on his face haha.

Yeah, it makes you wonder why f*rd called it a mach 1. I don't think they were a real powerhouse, and not much to look at as I remember.Good for you on dusting off a f*rd though.

i had the same thing happen. when i raced a mustang he stalled. only thing i can think of,was that the chevy thunder sucked all the extra oxygen out of the air,and it made him choke

Maybe it was a 200 in-line six with Mach 1 badging. Kind of like what the young'ns do to their ricers with fart pipes, wings and decals. I've spanked a bunch of these along with many, many trucks in my 70 Mach. But then, it is a true Mach 1 plus a little.
