C-20 Progress
I am in the process of restoring my C-20 to it's original condition. Thanks to board members, I have obtained factory original emblems, hub caps, rims/tires, and upper/lower mouldings. A little polish, a paint brush, an air gun, and a steady hand...old parts are turned into new. I pulled the inner fenders to access the factory drilled holes that were filled in by the P/O. Using the original metal clips, and straightening some of the trim, I have had great luck on getting the trim to fit snug against the body. I need to get some more clips to complete it, but I am very pleased with the results so far. The P/O also painted the inner gill black for some reason, so I also pulled it and painted it back to its original color. The inner fenders I cleaned, sanded down, sprayed with POR 15, then top-coated with POR 15 chassis (semi-gloss) black. I need to finish mounting and polish the trim, restore the hubcaps, along with some other things. I plan to take it to the Brothers truck show in July.

I hope to see you at Brothers driving it.

Re: C-20 Progress
Hey Rene, I'll bring the beer to Brother's! I met your brother Rudy last year at the show. Real cool cat...he was hanging around your green/white shortbed, and I talked to the guy that owned it as well. I guess he picked it up on ebay, got a set of buckets from you, and rolled to the show. Man, I like that truck!
SK- I have a lot of parts stashed away that were intended for my short bed. I think this truck is more deserving of them, so they are coming out! I'll post more pics in a few days. I also happened into a car show at Santa Anita racetrack today (Sunday) and will post pics later. A couple of our trucks, and some killer vettes. I am on "vacation" the next week, so it is family day tomorrow, and we are going to check out the Midway in San Diego. |
