Re: Interior help
man, tough choices... i'd replace the diamond plating for sure. thinking stock bezel smoothed and painted white and paint the gauge trim rings blue. do away w/ the summit control, (maybe paint blue) and try to get a double din radio, nav, dvd to fit in the old holes. just a thought...

Re: Interior help
get rid of the diamond plate. Get some clean stock parts on the dash and it will look great. I like the door panels.

Re: Interior help
weeeell
since you asked I think the diamond plate needs to go too the polished high class look of the door panels doesn't fit with the high tech industrial look of the plate in my opinion too much of a mix of styles but your truck is unique built to be what you want take some time and look at options it will come to you great truck -doing it your way good luck MArk

Re: Interior help
thanks guys for the input and compliments , I'm going to fiber glass the dash bezel and paint it white, and I found some plastic paint that match's the white material for the headliner trim, and the factory kick panel's are getting covered in white and I'm thinking about hiding the heater switch, what about wood in place of the diamond plate since my dad does wood work well, and recessing the gauges

Re: Interior help
yea the heater switch does kinda stick out
I like the idea of a wood dash with the guages recessed -sweet ... and keying it to the color of the wood on the seat/ console would look sharp mark

Re: Interior help
when I was mounting the switch I couldn't make my mind up where I wanted it so that's where it went, so it's going at the bottom of dash by the wiper switch it's the black knob,

Re: Interior help
Yeah get rid of the diamond plate. The billet one from lmc would look sweet and do the brushed aluminum pieces for the other diamond plate areas.

Re: Interior help
I thought about it some more, fiber glass the bezel, move the stereo to the factory location and wood trim for the dash

Re: Interior help
I'd be weary of the wood trim...
Nothing against your dad wood working ability, but the wood trim really doesn't fit the interior at all. Maybe if you stained it jet black and the proper grain pattern showed through, but I think it would be very hard to pull off and make it match the rest of the truck. For the speaker box, I'd ditch the shelf speakers (obviously) and just fit the subs and amps inside the box and use the kick panels as your mids and plant the tweeters in the dash corners. Maybe you could make a pod for them coming from the a-pillar. If you're in the mood for new equipment, I may have a box you can use... EDIT: I just thought of this, what if you could figure out a way to make the wood grain into flames...? how bad ass would that be...?

Re: Interior help
the wood trim I'm having second thoughts on, for the box, I was going make one that went to cab corner to cab corner and I'll have make it flat in the middle for the center console/seat

Re: Interior help
ditch the trim in the dash completely. It has lines leading to a door panel with nothing on it. Paint the dash to match the white on the door panels, or just have the dash covered in the leather thats on the doors. Smooth a factory dash bezel, and paint it blue. Eliminate all unnecessary things, and get the carpet dyed to match the blue in the seats. And get a new steering wheel wrapped in the same material as the seats/door panels.

Re: Interior help
The diamond plate is gone, I replace diamond with temporary sheet metal until I fiber glass the bezel, I was thinking about painting the dash white or blue to match, because the blue on the dash isn't even close, the carpet almost new so, Evantually I'm going to get carpet that matches
