Are Bags ONLY for Slammed Trucks?

Can air bags be used to obtain a stock to midly dropped truck height. I'm still tossing around ideas in my head for my 67 short stepper, and was now thinking about a mild 1" in front/3" in back drop. Reason for the question is that i've heard that bags give a smoother ride. Thanks for any inputs.

You can even use it on a lifted truck to lift higher.

But it's very easy to toss bags in the back and front of these trucks and not cut anything if your happy with that drop and ride. With the right setup, you can have plenty of lift for daily driving with a better ride.
