rear cross sill fleetside
is the rear cross sill bolted up with the 4 bolts on each side or do you only use the ones where you can get the nut and bolt threw , also was it ever tack welded in place. thanks

The rear cross sill on the '60-'66 fleetside beds have four bolts on each end and two tack welds holding them in place. There was a thread within the last week or so about this topic that may be helpful, also.

The ones I've seen had not only the two welds on the top, but were also welded vertically on the back.....towards the tailgate.

I just pulled mine apart and Lilred is correct about the bolts but at least on mine there was more than just a tack weld holding things together. There is a horizontal weld that is pretty easy to get at but the vertical weld can be a little trickyer. I ended up using a combination of a grinder/cut-off wheel and a small compact type hacksaw. Just take your time and you will be all good.

i replaced mine already , i just didn't weld or bolt it up yet , i just wanted to see how every body's cross sill was , thanks
