Cool Rear End and Core Damage

Blue Beard, The damage other than bolt on pieces ( fender, grille, bumper, etc ) seems to be limited to the front forks being slightly bent, luckly the bend is before the cross member and will be able to be straighten. The rear end is staying, I have ordered 6 lug rotors from Classic Performance which are for the 71 and up spindles. I'll keep everyone posted on the progress.

Thumbs up Progress reporton my 1969

Hello everyone, today got off to a slow start, I started cleaning up the cross member I will be installing, and removed the left A-arm, It will have to be replaced do to being bent, cleaning the crossmember took most of the day, however after dark started working on the van tilt column again, got it sanded and ready for painting tommorow, also cut out the holes for the netural start/backup light switch. If all goes well tommow will be pulling the engine and trans and taking it to a mechanic friend for a new main seal, and gaskets, also plan to clean and repaint while it is out. I will be reporting back tommorow with the progress again.

Cool progress

The engine and transmission were pulled, and will be taken to receive no seal and gaskets tommorow, with the engine off of the cross member I should be able to start the crossmember swap to add disc brakes. I've also got to come up with a way to repair rust damage in the upper portion of the fire wall. I keep this thread posted with the progress.

Progress is slower than expected

The engine and trans have been dropped off at the mechanics, and should be completed Friday. while at the mechanics I'm having the water pump, timing gear and chain, freeze plugs, and gaskets, I also dropped off the drive shaft to have a new carrier barring installed. When I got home preasure washed the engine compartment, and should start the crossmember swap out in the AM.

crossmember is swapped

Progress is still slower than expected, however I now have the 72 crossmember installed in my 69, and started connected brake lines, I also have repaired the rust on the upper portion of the firewall, and should have the engine reinstalled Monday
