Calling all stock 307 pics.
Im am trying to put my engine back to as stock looking as possible. Now granted the centerbolt valve covers and aluminum intake are going to be noticably different but I would like it to at least match colorwise and configuration wise. The only accessory i have will be the alternator and Im on the fence about changing it over to internal or just leaving it external till it dies. I have like 3 internals on the shelf i could use so it wouldnt cost me a dime to so the swap just not sure i want to. Anyway any pics yall got of stock looking engines would be great. I even dug through all my stuff and found a 4bbl version of my air cleaner so I can paint that up and use it.
Thanks, Terry J.

Here is my mostly stock 307. The PO moved the heat riser for the air cleaner to the oposite side.

Come on up and take all the pics you want. I have a blue 68 and an orange 72 both bone stock and complete to chose from.

Re: Calling all stock 307 pics.
Well mine will have black valve covers so thatll be one difference i guess. They are powder coated already so i dont really want to paint that orange. But it looks like the whole engine was orange at one time. And the accessories black. Mine was kinda hard to tell what color it was when i got it. Heres a pic.

Re: Calling all stock 307 pics.
Are ya sure its a 307? I dont remember them having the fill tube on the front. I could be wrong on that though. I thought the 283's and 327's were the only ones that had them.

Could a 307 come with a quadrajet, or were they all just 2bbl?

Re: Calling all stock 307 pics.
Well I was told this was a 307 in the 69 I just picked up. No idea if this is totally stock. Except for the pretty paint (heh) by the previous owner, it sure looks stock to me.

Re: Calling all stock 307 pics.
Well CG From the looks of the balancer it is not a 307. Probably a 305 or a 350. The balancer on a 306 is very small. Still a good pic though I appreciate it.
Here is a pick of mine when i first got the truck. Notice the balance and the pulley.

Re: Calling all stock 307 pics.
Well whatever it is it will be going bye bye to the scrap yard. Smokes big time and I think every single lifter is clacking. Ill just keep all the accessory stuff...pulleys etc etc.

Re: Calling all stock 307 pics.
If its a 350 i would keep it around. Take the heads off throw a garbage bag over it and stick it in the corner. Never know when you might need a starter block. Especially if the bottom end is still in good shape. 350's are getting harder to find. Just a suggestion anyway.

My very original 70 307 - the only nonstock things are distrib and the internal voltage reg on the alternator.
