Re: Suicided...almost.

Yea, I have to pull the door and shave the top, handle and then replace much of the pillar and door panel that was removed when installing the hinges. I'm going to wait until I do the other door. Hard stuff first, fun stuff later...

Re: Suicided...almost.

Are you using some sort of kit or just reworking alot of the factory style parts? Either way, I have always liked suicide doors.

Is your windshield frame laid back? I can't wait to see this one done.

Re: Suicided...almost.

yes, I raked the windshield back. I believe it worked out to be 3.75 inches, maybe 4. The kit I am using is a suicide door kit, their delux kit. The product is decent. I havent noticed any significant sag...yet. I was however, a big pain in the a$$ to install. The dash I made also. The photo dosnt show the curves.

Re: Suicided...almost.

I think it looks cool with one door suicided and one normal. That would be different at the car show!

Re: Suicided...almost.

Hey, thats what I said to my wife. I thought it looked cool too. And leaving it would get me out of doing the next door! She just gave me "that look".
Heres the next door started.

Re: Suicided...almost.

Here's the first door complete w/o any fab yet. I have to complete the other side and then bolt up all my sheet metal before I install the latch. Then I will fab out the pillar, top of door, panel and mold the cowl into the windshield. One thing just leads to another...

Re: Suicided...almost.

Okay, that one was easy. Here is is done. now I have to fill the top of doors, door handles, pillars, door panels etc... Also, I welded tabs onto the fenders so I can mold the cowl into the windshield, also closing the gap at the front from when it was raked back. I guess i'll start a build thread now. I have so many pictures though.

Re: Suicided...almost.

Nice work, probably a stupid question to someone who
has gone this far, but are the hood hinges worth the $.

Re: Suicided...almost.

No its not a 2wd. How can you tell?
The hood hinges are kinda weak. Lots of side to side movment. At the time i bought them, they were the only thing I could find that would work. The're good for up and down while your fitting the panels, but I think when i get all the panels fit I will look for something else. Anything in mind?
