Angry '69 GMC Horn badge: How's It Come Off???

I've done everything I know but put a big screwdriver under it and pry! How does the horn button come off without breaking it?

I have to get to the turn signal mechanism and don't want to have to buy a horn button....thanks, all!

I used two smaller screwdrivers and pried.... my Chevy horn badge came out with very little resistance.

OK, gerfunken...did you pry from the top, perhaps, or opposite sides? Thanks!

Just grab it and pull up hard on it.

I pried from opposing sides to try and bring it out straight.

It's a pressure seat, where the bottom of the cap is a bit larger, and it sits inside a metal cup that works like a big spring.

Not trying to hijack thread, but is there a way to restore the finish on the colored horn caps? I know the color goes all the way thru, but the surface color is gone.

Papa Smurf, I have the same problem...so, I think I'll try and get some Testers hobby paint and do a little mixing, if I can't find the right shade. Probably test it on the rear of the button (when I get it off!) before I paint the front side....

Let me know what you try, as well....Bud
