Re: ac evaporator question

You are talking about a POA upgrade kit. It is used with the factory evaporator coil. Here is what it looks like. It will not make your A/C system blow any cooler than the original POA valve.

Re: ac evaporator question

I'm planning on re-making my system into a CCOT setup when I get the air going. Mosesburb figured out the parts to use in his excellent build thread.

Evaporator number is an ACDelco 15-6249. Long GM number is 3035171. It fits '77 Montes, Chevelles and Impalas. According to mosesburb it lays right in there but is a row or two shorter, so you'll have to fab a small bracket to weatherstrip it properly.

Accumulator number is ACDelco 15-1648. Fits many late '80s & early '90s mid-sized sedans.

Question back to you-- what are you planning to use for a condenser? The factory one or a different shape/style?

Not sure what you're getting at . . . why would you keep the POA valve and install an orifice tube friendly evap?

Re: ac evaporator question

Okay, then the two part numbers I posted earlier will work. Surf over to mosesburb's build thread and look at the first picture in post #7. You can even see the orifice tube dimples on the inlet of that evap. The accumulator will screw right onto the outlet.
